Period 7 - Comparing Brands - a self evaluation

Now that you have completed the project, how did you think you did? Were any of the classes results surprising to you? Will you change the way you shop based on your and your classmates results?

I think Keren and I did really well on our project. I think this because we worked really well together and overall our experiment was avery good one. Some of the classes results were surprising to me. It was a little surprising that some people decided to choose their best project just because it was soft or had a specific texture. I didnt understand that because when they chose it, it didnt work as well and it cost more. Yes I will change the way I shop based on some of my classmates results. For example now i know what nail polish drys best and is the cheapest, and I also now know what type of basketball bounces the best.

I think I did really well on the project. I tested aluminum foil. The student trials for my project were suprising because I got different answers and they were not close to mine. Now that I know how strong each brand of aluminum foil is I realized the strenghts were all close together and I do not have to buy the most expensive brand any more.

I think I had done a good job overall on my comparing brands project. I thought my experiment gave a good new insight on which water cooler brand was the best buy. I think for my next presentation I will prepare a speech so I will feel more prepared on the day of the presentation. I, in the end really liked this project.

I think Lorenzo and I did well on our project. We worked well together because we agreed on what to do and got everything in on time. The class results were surprising because even though something was not the best they might still recommend that product. I might change the way I shop because I might buy a better product this time.

I think I did very well on my project. It was a good way to test different brands of plastic wrap; something you usually would just grab the cheapest off the shelf. Some results were surprising. I thought Glad would be the best, but Saran was which was the middle most expensive. This info is good for a shopper because it shows the cheapest isnt always the best and either is the most expensive. I learned that sometimes you dont have to pay a lot to get what you need done.

I think Sydney and I did pretty good on our project. Sure we ran into road blocks, speed bumps, and mess ups but we still happened to do really good. We learned from our mistakes and fixed them.
Yes, there were some results that surprised me a lot like the sponges.I thought they worked practically the same, I mean they're sponges! Well I was wrong, they all worked differently and if I remember right the cheapest brand ended up working the best.
The toilet paper project was also interesting. Their group recommended one of the name brands but the cheapest one worked almost as good. I would've gone with the cheaper toilet paper as long as it did its job. Why wouldn't you want to save money if the quality is just as good?
My project definitely surprised me the most. While we expected Glad to work well, Hefty did a poor job. Kirkland ended up doing better than Hefty and was close to Glad's maximum strength.
Well, I don't really have a say in what toilet paper my parents buy or sponges or even garbage bags but if I told them that we could save money, they would probably go for it.
I'd never even heard of Kirkland garbage bags but they proved to be worth while.I'll definitely mention that garbage bag brand to my parents the next time we're at Costco.
Oh and I also learned that you shouldn't judge the quality of any product until you've actually used it.

Alec and I worked well on our project of testing the absorbency of toilet paper. We communicated very well and worked hard on all parts of the project. Alec and I predicted which toilet paper would be that best, however the other two completely surprised me. The most expensive one was the one that worked best, but the worst brand costed very close to it. The one that worked the best only costed a little more than the others and was softer and thicker. This project has changed what I will buy massively because I now know the toilet paper I sometimes buy isn't worth what it costs. I'm very happy with how the project turned out and also what i have learned.

i think the project was a good idea it was fun and some people learned some thing for instance did you know that a wilson tennis ball can bounce higher than the professinal tennis ball well if you didn't well now you know and did you know that one sheet of bounty can hold up to 15 pool balls even when the paper towel is soaked and there you have it so peace out peoples i'm out of here

On my Comparing Brands project I worked with Lauren. I think we did well with our entire project and worked really well together. We both really liked our idea of comparing different mascara brands of how much water it takes for mascara to run. I think Emily M's project was suprising because I did not think the SHoprite brand would be good but it lastsed for a while. I dont think this will change the way I shop, but it was good to learn about.

I think for the project I did well, but could have done better with the poster. With the results I was kind of suprised, because it took longer than I thought it would take. I will change the way I shop. I was buying things for more money, and they did not work as well as the cheaper ones.

I Still need to present and i thing i will do well because i worked hard on this project. I thought my idea was cool and easy to do. I learned what basket ball was the best bounce and what which soda had more fizz. The results of all the products were good and i will now thing about these items differently

I feel like I did very well on my project. This is because I worked thoroughly in class as well as at home.I was surprised to find out that in most projects, the most expensive project was the worst. I don't understand why this would happen. I will change the way I shop because I will now choose the toilet paper Charmin because it worked the best. -Gary
