Tell me what you learned from this project.

This project was fun, yet brutal. It really made you think of a variety of different ways to think of how to make your project work. In this project, I learned that if you are going to think of an idea don't make it to complicated because that will be your downfall. An idea might seem awesome and easy on paper, but in real life it is impossible to build. But overall, this was a good project.

In this project, I learned that when something does'nt work at first, keep trying! At first, my pulley system on my project didn't work. My grandfather and I then came up with the creative idea to cut up a dowel to reduce friction and move the can. It worked after a lot of trials and errors, and this project taught me not to give up.

This project was so much fun yet really aggravating. I loved how it was hands-on and we actually got to build things, but figuring out which simple machines when combines would make our project work. I learned, that if in your machine there are a lot of pulleys (like in mine), then it will be easier to lift the weight needed. Also, if that you create a huge project with pulleys and levers and many, many, more simple machines, it will very difficult to figure out how to use and build. So keep things simple.

I learned to never under estimate a projecct because it seems easy. This was a difficult project. It showed me how to properly ues a compund simple machine.

This project was very fun yet very hard. I spent a long time putiing it together and in class, there were malfucntions in my project and i was very embarrassed. Other than that, I loved it and i enjoyed working on it.

I think this project was really fun because it let you use your mind. It let you use your imagination and creativity to come up with different ways to get the pulleys to work. It also allowed me to use really cool tools such as hammers, nails, and chop saws, along with a sanding machine. I got to work with my family and friends to put this project together. It was fun working with everyone and getting different ideas. I learned how to use different tools and what they were for. I learned how to use a chop saw properly, a hammer, and the sanding machine. There were difficult times. When I was building the project and putting it together and getting it to work properly. We had to take it apart and put it back together a couple of times, especially with the pulleys. We had to switch their postitions a few times to get them to work properly. I also loved being in class and seeing my classmates ideas and what they came up with. When I saw some of my classmate's inventions, it gave me some good ideas for my own. It was tricky because I had to find something strong enough to hold the 400 grams and had to come up with creative ways and materials around the house to carry the weight.

Paulina A This project was really challenging. It made you think really hard on what you wanted to do. At first my project worked. But then I tested it and it didn't work. I learned about the frustrations of trial and error. I also learned how good it feels when the project finally works. The inclined plane was too steep so it wouldn't go up the ramp. After a simple adjustment it worked fine. What I thought was a big problem ended up not being a big deal.

This project was really fun to make but it was hard to get the machine right and make sure the pulleys were where they were supposed to be. I learned that the heavier your object is the more pulleys you need to use to be able to lift the object.

This was a fun project. It showed us that simple machines can help us to lift or move things, faster and easier. The hard part of the project was making it work. I found that I could not build what I had drawn on paper. Most of the materials I tried to use where too heavy and created too much friction. The trick was to use materials that were lighter. The first pulleys and rope I tried to use weighed more than 400 grams. With light weight pulleys and string my project worked great.

I found this project to be a little more challenging than those that came before it. We were allowed to work with more people for this project with the assumption that it involved more work to be split up among the partners, but having three people work on one project didn't turn out as well as I thought it would. There was never really a time when all three of us were doing work at the same time, and it was difficult to decide on a time to work that was convenient for all three of us. This project was difficult because we had to build not just a vehicle or object, but a system of simple machines. While assistance from parents was permitted, my parents were out of town and we had to build our project ourselves. This was difficult, as before this, I'd never really done any woodwork before. In the end, our project was far from perfect, but we pulled through and found success.

I thought this project was good but really confusing. After building the frame of my project it was easy to complete from there. I learned a lot from this project like how to find the mechanical advantage of a machine. I actually thought this was the most challenging project we had so far and I plan to have more in the future.

This project was very labor intensive and made you think like an engineer. It took me hours to perfect the gear system and try to reduce friction as much as possible. It was a good project though.
