Period 3 - Comparing Brands - a self evaluation

Now that you have completed the project, how did you think you did? Were any of the classes results surprising to you? Will you change the way you shop based on your and your classmates results?

My project was to test the absorbentcy of sponges. I feel like i did very well on my project. No ones result was really that surprising because they were all pretty close to the numbers I got. I won't change the way I shop because the sponge that was most absorbent and least expensive which is the Shop Rite brand is the brand I normally us.

I thought my project went very well. I tested the bounce heights in cm. of lacrosse balls. The materials I used were 3 larosse balls from 3 different brands, a marker, some scotch tape, and a meter stick. Next, place your meter stick firm on the ground, and put your first lacrosse ball on the top. Drop it down and record how high it bounces. Do this 3 times for each ball. It was a sucessful experiment, and easy to do. No real problems went on, and it worked out perfectly.

i think that i did very well on our comparing brands project. Actually, yes, some of my classmates results were surprising. Such as that Dr. Pepper soda was fizzier than Coke soda. Based on the information presented, i probably will change the way that i shop for items.

I did pretty well on this project. When I first did the project, I found that Dr. Pepper fizzed the longest (about 9-11) seconds more than Pepsi or Coke. When someone else did it, the time it took was in minutes, not seconds. I was really surprised. Although they were close in price, Dr. Pepper fizzed the most.

I think I could have practiced a bit more. Maybe I should've had note cards. One of the results did suprise me. I thought Bounty would be better than the Viva towels. I don't think that we will switch our brands because we are content with them.

I think I could've practiced more, or used note cards. The Viva towels, I thought, would be weaker than Bounty. The strength of the Viva surpried me. I don't think we will change our shopping because we like what we use now.

On the comparing brands project I think that I did well. There were only a few minor things I could have fixed. The nail polish remover project surprised me. I would not think that Shoprite brand would be the best. I will change the way I shop because now I know which brands are the best.

I think that I did an amazing job on my experiment. I found that the student trial helped me because, it showed that my experiment was easy to understand and that everything worked as I thought it would. The results of my experiment showed me that spending a little extra money gave me a better rubber band. Many of the other students experiments showed that there was not much difference between the most and least expensive products. So you could save a lot of money by using the less expensive product.

i think me and nina did ok...testing our was very eazy but getting the powerpoint done took way more time then needed to the point where it was late! i was a little shocked that viva beat bounty, i always guessed bounty was the stongest. but i was wrong viva was stronger.. well thats really it.

I think i did pretty well on my project. I had trouble getting measurable results at first, but once i found the right way to pull the trash bags and measure them, I had no trouble. I wasn't surprised to find that in the end the more expensive mainstream brand was the strongest. After finding this with my experiment, some of my classmates results surprised me. I guess it varies with every product which brand is the best.

My project was to test the absorbency of 3 paper towel brands: Bounty, Brawny, Sparkle. And I think I did really good considering that I took pride in my work.

I think that i did really good on my comparing brands project. It was very fun, pretty easy, and it was a great learning experience. Now i know what paper towel to buy when i am shopping for them.

I think I did pretty well considering I forgot to bring the project in for student trials. I had to make many changes to the materials and procedure but I was able to get it. Solo reigns supreme!

My project was to see which dish soap made the most bubbles, therefore it would clean the dishes the best. The one that had the most bubbles was dawn dishsoap, which was a little bit surprising because I thought palmolive would be the best because thats what I use at home and it seems to work well. I think I would still buy palmolive though because it wasn't the most expensive and dawn was.

For the comparing brands project I think I did good because I made sure that everything I handed in was on the rubric. I am confident in what I handed in and it was done to the best of my ability so therefore I think I did well. No my class mates results weren’t very surprising to me they were all In range with each other. Yes I will change the way I shop based on my results. For example now I know what nail polish remover works the best. I also know which napkins to buy that absorb the most liquid.

i think i did pretty good on my project considering i had to re-do my visual. None of the classes results were really suprising to me. I guess i would change my product because tape is hard to fine diffrent brands.
